Hailing from a town first inhabited by criminals, prostitutes, profiteers and bushrangers comes Disconnect Records, a punk rock record label tearing down the fences and thrashing the airwaves to within an inch of their life.

Based in Hobart, Tasmania, independent record label Disconnect Records is dedicated to building the Tasmanian punk and hardcore scene into a force to be reckoned with and recognised. Disconnect is focused on pushing Tasmanian bands and their distinct, trend-free sounds. Feeding off their isolation, the island creates a hunger and passion that is reflected in the attitudes of the label and the bands, influenced by their own opinions and musical directions, rather than the proliferation of a particular style or sound.

Combined with a now-flourishing touring circuit opened up to both national and international bands, Disconnect is showing the world that Tasmania isn't just that pointy bit at the bottom of a big island.

There's blood on the line, sweat on the floor and more than enough to go round. DIY and dedicated-as-fuck, Disconnect is here to break the chains and let slip the dogs of war.
